After a quieter than usual June-August quarter it looks like things are livening up in the world of legal publishing and content.
This week we see that Kluwer has done a deal with China’s Commercial Press to improve the distribution and knowledge of Chinese law around the world and also make China more aware of international legal content internally. Via.. of course.. Kluwer publications
Over at Oxford University Press they’ve announced impending price rises on publications
Thomson Reuters are doubly busy with the launch of their West Case Notebook 2.0 and also write that they’ve xreated a I pad app for Westlaw Next
In the UK John Wiley & Sons has announced the launch of Wiley Online Library. Which they say offers integrated access to over 4 million articles from 1,500 journals, 9,000 books, and hundreds of reference works and databases.
Springer say they have relaunched their online platform SpringerLink which hosts nearly five million documents, including eBooks, journals and reference works. The redesigned site , we’re told, has a new and fresh concept that includes semantic linking and connects related content across eBooks and journals.

And finally a story that’s been very popular on House Of Butter over the past few days. We’ve come across a post by a USA based blogger who also happens to work for a company that receives outsourced work from Westlaw.. and it looks as though most of the young contractors seem to be spending their time with one another, on facebook etc. Anything but working on Westlaw tasks
