On one hand Reed are saying they won't sell Lexis. Yet this press release below about Lexis in Aus & NZ  sent out this week suggests, to us anyway,  that by combining the two operations in Aus and NZ the company is actually preparing to make the southern hemisphere division an easier sale prospect.

LexisNexis® Announces Plan to Realign Operations in Australia and New Zealand into One Pacific Organization.

Sydney, Australia, January 24, 2012 – LexisNexis® today announced its intention to realign its businesses in Australia and New Zealand in line with its strategy to deliver the next generation of Legal Research and Practice Management services.

The proposed new Pacific business, encompassing both Australia and New Zealand, will create a single team to deliver greater customer service and roll out innovative new products while keeping local knowledge in local markets.

TJ Viljoen, CEO LexisNexis Pacific Region, said the proposed new business will take advantage of common processes and improved product and content development to meet the unique requirements of customers and drive best practice customer service across the region.

“This proposal positions LexisNexis as a single team in the Pacific to deliver truly improved customer services alongside a pipeline of innovative new products to our customers," said Mr Viljoen.

“We believe the intended realignment will create a consistently high level of service across these two markets and provide all of our customers the benefits of the wider range of market-leading skills, knowledge and experience in our organisation.”

The announcement follows the recent launches of LN Practical Guidance®, eBooks and improved reporting and workflow within the Lexis® Affinity Library Service.
